Yay. Still have a few peppers coming.
One of my Sun Gold tomato plants is over 7' tall, it has been producing and is still putting on new blossoms. As I counted the dwindling days, I knew what I had to do. The sacrifice. There is something primally wrong about plucking those promising fresh blossoms and leaving them to wither. But it had to be done. There was no other way.
Tomatoes rarely cross-pollentate, so they are good candidates for seed saving. They have to ferment for a few days in a glass of water at room temperature before they are dried and stored. Aren't they beautiful?
They remind me of frogs' eggs.
